Recent Media Release Issues identified for Election Candidates.

With the approaching November Cardinia Cardinia Shire Council election, Cardinia Ratepayers & Residents Association (CRRA) has identified a number of issues which were endorsed unanimously by members at a meeting on 21st August 2008 as important to the residential and business community of Cardinia Shire and relevant for consideration by intending candidates.

Community Groups Meeting with Planning Minister Justin Madden

The CRRA Submission to the Community Groups Meeting with Planning Minister Justin Madden on 16/08/2007 was presented by Gloria O'Connor and David Drinkwater. Thirty-six resident groups from various rural locations in Victoria presented their views to the Minister about the impact of Melbourne 2030 in their area and the excessive development that is occurring.

Recent Media Release re Golf Course Sale.

The CRRA media release re C66 was put out on 22nd August 2007 in response to the statement by the Cardinia Shire Council Chief Executive Officer who informed the Council meeting on 20th August that the Contract of Sale for the Pakenham golf course and adjoining land will not expire until 31st August and that the developer still has an option to buy the land despite the fact the Minister has refused the Council's rezoning application.

As residents and ratepayers of Cardinia Shire, are you aware that there has been a major controversy about the community owned public land (31 hectares) adjoining Pakenham golf course (60 hectares) also community owned land, which is zoned for public recreation purposes.
